Albuquerque police recover high school’s stolen band gear | Local News

ALBUQUERQUE – Albuquerque Police Department found a stolen high school truck loaded with tape equipment valued at approximately $ 200,000.

On the day of a major competition, just hours before the protesters actually perform, the Las Cruces High School marching band discovered that all of their gadgets and instruments had disappeared.

School officials said some of the stolen devices were new and some were not insured.

Other schools tried to help by lending the band band equipment so the Las Cruces High Bulldogs could compete in the Zia Marching Band Fiesta, a major competition held at the University of New Mexico.

The police said the van was found in Albuquerque later on Saturday.
