APS Vaccination Partners

Jody Wagner, Department of Health; Stan Low, City of Albuquerque; Uri Bassan, Best Buy Drugs and RX Innovations; Todd Rucker, Victor Quinonez, and John Dufay, APS Maintenance and Operations, were recognized for being APS COVID-19 vaccination partners.

Jody Wagner is the director of Nursing Services for the Department of Health Northwest Region. She is also a former APS nurse. Stan Low is with the Emergency Operations Center for the City of Albuquerque. Stan and Jody started our partnership on December 31st, 2020, with the first round of vaccines to first responders. Stan is a logistical genius who set up mass vaccination events with the Department of Health to efficiently get vaccines out to the community. Since then the DOH has provided the following:

  • 2,147 COVID and 385 other vaccines at Albuquerque High School
  • 1,769 COVID and 319 other vaccines at Cibola High School
  • 78 COVID and 197 other vaccines at Del Norte High School
  • 79 COVID and 276 other vaccines at La Cueva High School
  • 795 COVID and 416 other vaccines at West Mesa High Schools
  • And 16,124 COVID vaccines at Berna Facio Professional Development Center

Jody continues to help two days a week providing vaccines to the community at Berna Facio.

Uri Bassan is with BestBuy Drugs and RX Innovations. He has worked with our school sites to offer vaccines, including flu shots to our school communities. Since August 20, 2021, we have conducted pop-up clinics at 47 schools and have administered 22,609 doses of COVID vaccine and approximately 5,000 flu shots. Uri continues to provide school pop up clinics.

Todd Rucker, Victor Quinonez, and John Dufay are from the APS Maintenance and Operations Department. They do the set up and clean up for all events. They are also on-site at each event to help with traffic control and management of lines. Without their implementation of logistics, the vaccination clinics would not occur.

Gabrielle Blakey is the Chief Operations Officer for APS. Her leadership and coordination have enabled all of these partners to come together and host the vaccination clinics that are so needed during these extraordinary times.
