The Scoop: Loving stated the season 6-0 and ended a three-game District 2-4A losing streak last week. Santa Rosa is a perineal contender in 2A.

The Scoop: Carlsbad high school head football coach Oliver Soukup coaches the Cavemen to the 6A playoffs in his rookie season. Carlsbad is one of three teams from District 6/3-4A in the state playoffs. Las Cruces Centennial and Hobbs drew first round byes.
