MC Davis, a longtime resident of Globe from 1946 to 1989, passed away quietly in Bloomfield, New Mexico June 20, 2022 with his three surviving children Jo Elaine Lewis, Rebecca Thomey and James Davis.

He was preceded in death by his wife Diana Lu Williams, daughter Marianna Moss, sons-in-law Jim Moss and Ray Lewis, parents James Homer and Velma Lee Davis, great-grandson LJ Lewis, sister Verna Mae Davis-Cooper, brothers- in-law Veron Cooper and Joe Balch, and grandparents Marvin Davis, Maybelle Willoughby-Davis, Grover Cleveland Fowler and Eula Lillie Holt-Fowler.

MC was born in Sardis, Texas on Nov. 21, 1926. He had asthma as a child and had to move to Clovis, New Mexico when he was 17 years old. He lived with his Aunt Lenora and Uncle Doug.

He worked as an usher, at the Dr. Pepper Co. and a bologna and hot dog factory as well as on the military base in Clovis. He met and married the love of his life, Diana Lu Williams. They moved to Miami, Arizona and he went to work at the mill at Castle Dome.

MC worked at the copper mines for 42 years; it was under 4 different names, one being city services. He worked as a union man, becoming a union president for over 20 years. MC retired after 42 years of service. He and Diana moved to Bloomfield, New Mexico. While there he raised great vegetables, and did some alfalfa farming and lots of hunting.

He is survived by his children Jo Elaine Lewis, Rebecca (Becky)/Bill Thomey and James A./Catherine Davis; Brother James Orvis/Joyce Davis; sisters Dorthory Goodwin and Cassie L. Balch; 17 grandchildren, Jon D./Rita Lewis, Jim M./Lois Lewis, Joseph N./Donna Lewis, Karen E./Shawn Shropshire, Jarom A./Rita Lewis, Regina A./Woody Johnson, Mary (Anna) Mishler -Boren, Jerry Lee II/Sandra Mishler, Paul D./ Marcia Thomey, Elizabeth (Liz) D. Thomey, Rachel S. Thomey, Beverly M./James E. Lindsay, Shawn H./Monica Scott , Stacy A./ Vince Fontana, Janice, Tresa Bogan and Melissa Cox; 24 great-grandchildren and 49 great-great-grandchildren.

We will all miss our dad, grandfather, great-granddad and great-great-granddad.

There was a service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bloomfield, New Mexico on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10 am

Interment was at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington, New Mexico.
