A Farmington, New Mexico, man died Tuesday after a three-vehicle collision on State Highway 158, according to the Department of Public Safety.

DPS reported Wednesday that Juvencio Juarez-Marquez, 37, was driving his Dodge 3500 east on SH 158 near the intersection of East County Road 160 when the vehicle he was following – another Dodge 3500 with a trailer – attempted to turn onto ECR 160.

“(Juarez-Marquez) failed to control (his vehicle’s) speed and collided with the back of the trailer towed by (the other Dodge 3500),” DPS reported. “The trailer towed by (the other Dodge 3500) was loaded with a Bobcat skid-steer loader, and due to the crash, it landed in the westbound lanes of SH 158. Vehicle 3 (a Mack Truck with trailer) was traveling westbound and collided with the loader. (Juarez-Marquez) 1 was pronounced deceased at Midland Memorial Hospital.”

All three drivers were wearing their seat belts. The collisions happened around 5:27 pm, according to DPS.
