DENVER – Santa Fe’s Denver Art District (ADSF) is full of galleries, artists, studios, and theaters and is known nationwide for its thriving art scene. Although ADSF was officially founded in 2003, the Museo De Las Americas on Santa Fe Drive has been celebrating Latin American art and culture since 1991.
For over three decades, the Museo De Las Americas has been committed to the presentation of art and culture within the Latinx community.
“We’re the leading Latino art museum in the state of Colorado and actually, let’s say the entire Rocky Mountain region,” says Claudia Moran, the executive director of the Museo De Las Americas.
From ancient and folk to contemporary art, the Museo hosts exhibits from all over America as well as local artists here in Colorado.

“We will always be concerned with the question, ‘What is our Colorado experience? What’s our Colorado story? ‘ And we’ll try to connect them. It’s always a great opportunity to hire local artists as well, ”says Moran.
Museo is more than just a museum; it’s a community. Moran believes Museo will open the door to important conversation about the Latinx experience.
“We are a community museum. The Museo De Las Americas specializes in holding conversations from the community in order to have different types of conversations in an art exhibition, in a lecture, in a discussion, in a round table that will take place here at the Museo, ”says Moran .
