Get ready to dance at the first Latin Music Day in Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES – It’s time to dance!

An eclectic mix of award-winning music groups comes to Las Cruces on October 10th for a day of Latin music at DH Lescombes Winery & Bistro.

Priscilla Quinones-Chavez, a member of the Latin Function Project and Caribé, said the open-air concert will consist of both local and visitor groups. Music styles from Mexico, Cuba, Brazil and other Latin American countries will be represented. Latin Feature also plays popular classical rock music with a Latin flair.

The event coincides with the weekend of Indigenous People’s Day and the end of Hispanic Heritage Month. Much of the music from the Latin region is a mix of Spanish and indigenous influences.

Participants can expect Cumbia, Bachata, Latin Reggae, Tejano, Boleros Romanticos and more. The music groups include:

  • Caribbean (parsley)
  • DJ Hector Mendez
  • Latin function (Latin variant)
  • Marcos Cavalcante (Brazilian Jazz Quartet)
  • Organ Ambient (Latin Jazz)
  • Reviva (Latin reggae)
  • UnLyshed (Spanish variety)
  • Xplosion (Tejano)

On Sunday, October 10th, music will be played from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at lescombeswinery.com/product/latinmusic/. General entry on the lawn is $ 30 per person. There are also limited tickets available for patio seating.

Órgano Ambiente will complement the music program for Latin Music Day on October 10, 2021 at DH Lescombes Winery & Bistro.

“There were country music festivals and we saw tejano festivals,” Quinones-Chavez said, but this concert will celebrate the rich musicality of the frontier and beyond.

She said they hope this will be the first annual Latin Music Festival with the event growing in size and reach each year.
