‘Gun Show’ closes this weekend at Black Box

Bulletin Report

The final four performances of “The Gun Show” are this weekend at Black Box Theater (BBT), 430 N. Main St. The 65-minute, one-act play stars Casi Galban in a brilliant one-person show that is directed by Joshua Taulbee. Final performances are 7 pm Thursday, March 31; 8 pm Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2; and 2: 30 pm Sunday, April 3. Tickets are $10 for the Thursday, March 31, performance only and $15 regular admission, $12 for students and seniors over age 65 for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday performances. The play was written by EM Lewis and presents multiple perspectives on guns and gun ownership as told by the playwright. Lewis “captures my doubts, fears and confusion about the topic of guns,” said Taulbee, who is making his directorial debut. “It is a complicated issue … that we, as a community, need to spend more time discussing.” Taulbee also designed the show’s set. Peter Herman serves as the show’s technical director. Bekah Taulbee is the light and sound board operator. While you are at BBT, enjoy “The Gun Show” art exhibit in the theater lobby.
