Gus Macker tournament this weekend from August 27th to 29th

The Gus Macker 3v3 basketball tournament returns to Las Cruces from August 27-29 at the Hadley Sports Complex.

Approximately 225 teams from southern New Mexico, west Texas, and the Phoenix area are registered to play.

Spectators are encouraged to come out and there is no entry.

The celebrations begin on Friday, August 27th, 4pm to 7pm at the Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave., with package pickups and celebrity games with Special Olympic athletes and first responders from the Las Cruces Police and Fire Department.

The tournament will take place on Saturday, August 28th, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, August 29, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hadley will close between Solano Drive and Walnut Street starting at 7:00 am on Friday, August 27th.

Spectators can bring their own ice boxes and drinks, but no glasses or alcohol are allowed. Tents are allowed, but staking out is prohibited. Tents have to be weighed down.

Food trucks will be on site. A DJ provides entertainment and there is a special children’s and family area with games, bouncy castles and other activities. The cost for the family area is $ 5 per person per day.
