Jardin de los Niños receives grant from Covid. helping affected families

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) is contributing $ 100,000 as part of its Covid-19 Community Collaborative Grant Fund to meet the immediate needs of New Mexicans affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, including $ 10,000 for the Jardin de. in Las Cruces Los Niños program for children and families struggling with homelessness.

The BCBSNM Fund provides 10 emergency grants of $ 10,000 each to Jardin and nine other nonprofits that focus on access to health care, behavioral health, housing and housing, child and elderly care, and Covid health literacy and vaccines, BCBSNM said in a news release.

The Jardin grant will “provide basic needs and financial support to families affected by homelessness, near-homelessness and / or job loss through the Jardin de los Niños Covid-19 Homeless Prevention Program,” the press release said.

BCBSNM is one of the largest commercial health insurers in the state, with 680,000 members. It is a division of the Health Care Service Corporation.
