KRWG Public Media ‘Reads for the Record’ and children listen

LAS CRUCES – KRWG Public Media is proud to partner with New Mexico State University, Western New Mexico University, Ngage New Mexico, and the SUCCESS Partnership to support Jumpstart’s Read for the Record initiative and promote early literacy on Saturday October 30th at the KRWG TV studios on the NMSU campus.

This year’s book was “The Patchwork Dragon” by Amy Wu.

More than 1,100 children attended readings between Silver City and Las Cruces, with around 550 books being given free to local children.

Families had the opportunity to visit KRWG-TV to attend the reading of “The Patchwork Dragon”, tour the station and chat with Super WHY! to be photographed! at the Las Cruces event.

Judging by the success of the program, KRWG Public Media looks forward to doing it again.
