Ninth Las Cruces Chile Drop
Head to the Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St., to participate in Las Cruces’ famous New Year’s Eve Chile Drop. From 9 pm Saturday to 12:30 am Sunday, the plaza will be full of food, entertainment, vendors and revelers. The event is free and open to the public.
The Memphis Band will provide live music while carnival vendors will be on site with food and games. Party favors will be available while supplies last and Main Street merchants will be open. Just before midnight, the giant chile will drop, turning red or green at the stroke of midnight.
Dinner at DH Lescombes Winery & Bistro
DH Lescombes is offering a special New Year’s Eve dinner from 4 to 9 pm Saturday. A four-course dinner will include choices of Baked Brie or Coquilles St. Jacques, French Mushroom Bisque or Wedge Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing, Rack of Lamb or Surf & Turf or Eggplant Parmesan and Tiramisu or Chocolate Torte or Cheese Plate.
Meals will include a special toast of Heritage Brut, Imperial Kir or Bellissimo. Reservations are $75 per person and can be placed by calling 575-524-2408. DH Lescombes is located at 1720 Avenida de Mesilla.
New Year’s Eve Bash at Whiskey Dick’s
Ring in the New Year country-style at Whiskey Dick’s night club, 101 E. Union Ave. Join the dance party from 6 pm Saturday to 2 am Sunday.
New Years Eve Downtown Bash at AmadorLIVE
Ring in the New Year at AmadorLIVE Eatery and Entertainment District, 302 S. Main St. Live bands and DJs will provide music and Amador Patio Bar & Grill will host a special dinner by Chef Enrique Hernandez. Reservations can be made by calling 575-541-7417.
The Vybez Band with Stinger J starts at 8:30 pm on the Amador Patio. Club 575 will feature DJ Legit Alpha and IA for the night. DJ Neokiddd wants to take over Jax Rooftop Lounge. Broken Spoke Taphouse will serve as the New Year’s Eve Pub with more than 60 beers, seltzers and ciders on tap.
Las Noches de Las Luminarias at Fort Selden
Fort Selden Historic Site is welcoming the public to enjoy its annual Las Noches de Las Luminarias. Over 900 luminarias will cover the ruins on the site from 5 to 9 pm Saturday. The evening will also include fireworks and guests can create their own luminarias to take home.
It has been two years since the holiday tradition was hosted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Laney’s Lunchbox food truck will be on site. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 16 and under. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time online at https://my.nmculture.org/11030/15912.
Old Farts’ New Year’s Eve at Downtown Blues Coffee
Join Cleve and Sweet Mary Hattersley at Downtown Blues Coffee Saturday night for an “Old Farts’ New Year’s Eve.” Musicians Teresa Tudury and Doug Adamz will round out the musical evening. Attendees are encouraged to wear their pajamas, the performers certainly will. The show starts at 7 p.m
Organizers describe the event as the “perfect Las Cruces NYE celebration for those who want to be home” early to watch the ball drop on television. Or attendees can take a walk down Main Street to the other bars and celebrations scheduled. Advance tickets are $10 at Downtown Blues or $15 at the door. Downtown Blues is at 130 S. Main St.
New Years Eve ‘Resolutions’ at RAD Retrocade
RAD Retrocade will host its annual Resolutions New Year’s Eve Bash from 9 pm Saturday to 2 am Sunday. Take advantage of the arcade games and party it up with DJs Rob-E and David James. A balloon drop will occur at the stroke of midnight, as well as a confetti blast and complimentary toast. Free photos will be provided.
This event is 21 and up only and valid IDs are required. “Fashion forward” dress code will be enforced. Tickets are available online at www.eventbrite.com/o/partytenders-events-1409917819 for $10 or at the door for $15.
