All participants must wear masks during all performances.

The play is directed by BBT co-owner Ceil Herman.

“We have produced Durang’s Beyond Therapy, directed by Bradd Howard, and I directed, Baby with the Bathwater, both of which are crowd-pleasers,” said Herman. “Durang has such a strange and crazy way of looking at the world. Although this piece was written in 1988 and we set it to music in 1987, the subject is very topical. “

In the play, a man (Brad Martinez) is looking at cans of tuna in a grocery store when a woman (Jamie Bronstein) appears behind him and eventually hits him on the head for not speaking to her.

The first act of the play consists of two extended monologues, one from the woman and one from the man, who talk about their experiences in the store. In the second act, the man and woman enter into a series of dream sequences in which they imagine what might have happened during their encounter and under other circumstances, such as on a talk show or while participating in the Harmonic Convergence.

Laughing Wild is set in 1987 and covers topics such as nuclear proliferation, sexual identity, AIDS and mental health.

Bronstein’s first acting role was Anne in “The Diary of Anne Frank” as an eighth grader at the Pax Amicus Castle Theater in Budd Lake, New Jersey. Years later she played Mrs. Van Daan in the performance of the same play at the Las Cruces Community Theater. Bronstein has also appeared in LCCT productions of “Belles”, “The Foreigner”, “Shadowlands” and “The Odd Couple”. On BBT Bronstein starred in “Dead Man’s Cell Phone”, “The Birthday Party”, “Alice in Wonderland”, “Boy Gets Girl”, “Rocket Man”, “The Real Thing”, “Seagulls in a Cherry Tree” “And” Breasts and Neglect “.

Martinez graduated from Oñate High School, where his drama teacher was Sherry Aland. He graduated from Santa Fe University of Art and Design and Bath Spa University and received a BFA in acting from Columbia College Chicago. Martinez has appeared in LCCT’s productions of “Recreational Living”, “Subpoena” and “The Shape of Things”. His most recent track is “You, Me and the Cat” with the Perceptions Theater Company in Chicago.
