JUNE 14, 1985 – SEPTEMBER 27, 2021
Melanie Danielle Martinez, 36 years old, went to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with her parents by her side on Monday, September 27, 2021. Melanie was born on June 14, 1985 to Pete and Yvonne Martinez. Melanie was smart and academically a high-flyer, she excelled in everything she set out to do. After graduating from high school in 2003, Melanie first worked as a receptionist at Valdez and Associates, which sparked her enthusiasm for real estate. She passed her real estate certification exams on the first try, which opened up many opportunities as a real estate agent in Santa Fe. Soon after, she became interested in insurance and worked successfully for many years at Allstate Insurance Company. Although Melanie was successful professionally, her greatest achievement was becoming a mother, but she found her greatest joy in her children Leah and Josh, who truly fulfilled their lives and loved them unconditionally. Melanie had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deeply positive way, she made a lasting impression on everyone she met with her big beautiful brown eyes and unforgettable smile and happy personality. She had such a tender and compassionate heart that she always gave to those in need: feeding the homeless, visiting the sick and helping everyone who could.
Melanie’s death was preceded by grandparents Atanacio and Bersabela Martinez, Olivia Montoya, aunt Darlene McKnight, cousins ​​Angelo and Christian Martinez-Mack, and in-laws George and Dee Dee Herrera, whom they all loved very much. Melanie leaves behind her parents Pete and Yvonne Martinez, sister Melissa “Missy” Martinez, children Leah and Josh Herrera, close sister friend Antoinette Moya-Patnode and many relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, October 8, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at The Light at Mission Viejo, 4601 Mission Bend, Santa Fe, NM 87507.
