- New Jersey’s unemployment insurance tax rate for employees will remain 0.425% for 2023
- The tax rates for temporary disability insurance and family leave insurance will decrease
Effective Jan. 1, 2023, New Jersey’s unemployment tax rate for employees will be 0.425%, unchanged from 2022, the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development said Oct. 24 on its website.
The rate of 0.425% includes a base rate of 0.3825% allocated to the state’s unemployment trust fund and an assessment of 0.0425% allocated to the state’s workforce development-supplement workforce fund.
Effective for 2023, New Jersey’s temporary disability insurance tax rate for employees will be 0%, down from 0.14% for 2022. The 2023 family-leave insurance tax rate for employees will be 0.06%, down from 0.14% for 2022.
