LAS CRUCES, NM – Head coach Mike Dirks has announced the addition of two more players to the NM State men’s golf program. Dirks added Alexandre Bauduin, a transfer from New Mexico, and River Smalley, a walk-on from NM State.

Alexandre Baudouin

Bauduin, a native of Bassussarry, France, comes to the Aggies as a redshirt sophomore from the in-state rival. Helping to lead his team to the French National Championship in four consecutive years – 2015, ’16, ’17, and ’18 – Bauduin built an impressive prep resume. The Frenchman won the junior Honda Classic and the Grand Prix de Langon to earn his spot in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

In the classroom, Braduin was named the the 2020-21 Mountain West All-Academic Team.

River Smalley

Earlier this summer, Smalley put together a pair of top-ten finishes in back-to-back events, including a second-place finish at the Match Play Championship in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Finishing eighth at the New Mexico/West Texas Amateur Championship, Smalley continued to build his resume heading into his first season as an Aggie.

Last summer, Smalley won the SCAGA Spring Stroke Play Championship before winning the PGM Event at Red Hawk Golf Club in Las Cruces within a one-week span.

Smalley has been a student at NM State since 2019 and has been a member of the PGA Golf Management program.
