NM State Women’s Golf Prepared and Ready for the Aggie Invitational

Press release of the NMSU Athletics

NM State’s women’s golf program opens the game at its home tournament, the Aggie Invitational, Monday through Wednesday on the NMSU golf course.

The 20-team field includes a pair of teams placed in the top 100 of Golfweek’s most recent leaderboards and seven teams placed in the top 125.

The action starts on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. and continues with rounds two and three planned for Tuesday and Wednesday.

LAST TIME OUT:
The Aggies are trying to build on the momentum from last week’s Red Sky Classic golf week. As one of the toughest mid-major golf courses of the year, the Aggies bounced back from a slow start to the top 15.

Junior Amelia McKee shook off an opening round of 75 (+3) and fired a second round of 69 (-3). McKee’s second round featured a pair of eagles and was the lowest single round of the second round.

Originally scheduled for three days and rounds, the tournament was shortened to 36 holes due to the bad weather in the cold and wet Vail.
