OpenEye gets $439,000 state job training grant | Business

OpenEye Scientific, a Santa Fe molecular model software company, has received its sixth Job Training Incentive Program grant from the New Mexico Economic Development Department to train 17 new employees.

The company is eligible for $ 439,632 state reimbursements once employee training is complete, with an average wage of $ 47.27. OpenEye has made four previous claims for $ 309,333 after training 14 employees since 2018, said Marissa Corley, the company’s chief human resources officer.

OpenEye has 107 employees, up from 37 this year.

“We’re definitely going to hit 130 within six months,” Corley said. “[JTIP is] incredibly important. It helps cover the cost of high-quality, high-tech roles. [Without JTIP]”It makes it difficult to hire as quickly as we do.”

This JTIP scholarship will train several engineers, scientific software developers and IT staff.

OpenEye Scientific has developed numerous software products to help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and in 2019 brought them together into one product called Orion, resulting in rapid employee growth.
