Farm and Ranch Museum prepares for COVID-19 vaccination campaign in December

LAS CRUCES – The Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum has been offering free COVID-19 vaccinations on Tuesdays since October; and the New Mexico Emergency Management Agency on Monday highlighted the program for residents who wish to be vaccinated.

As the state has worked to expand vaccine providers and move vaccination away from mass vaccination events and into more routine care settings, the demand for vaccines, as well as supplies sent to the state by federal agencies, has increased.

The state Ministry of Homeland Security and Emergency Management reminded that vaccinations are also available at the museum.

Gregory Blok will receive a vaccine on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at a clinic offering COVID-19 vaccinations at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces.

The supplies allotted to the museum for December 7th and 14th would likely cover more than 500 cans a day.

The program continues to offer service only on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with primary and booster doses of the adult vaccine developed by Pfizer-BioNTech and Johnson and Johnson available. According to the instructions from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people may have a booster dose of a different vaccine than the one used for their main treatment.

Flu vaccinations will also be available, and health officials say individuals can safely get both of them with one visit.

The museum has been offering the Tuesday vaccination campaigns to the public free of charge since October. Wheelchairs are available for visitors, and upon receipt of a picture, visitors are promised free entry to the rest of the museum for the whole day.
