Organ Mt. boys, Alamogordo girls win at Las Cruces Invitational

The Organ Mountain High boys track and field team won the team competition at the Las Cruces Invitational April 1 at the Field of Dreams.

Alamogordo High was the girls winner, and Las Cruces High took second at its own meet in the girls.

First-place boys for Organ Mountain were: Brett Bybee, 1,600 meters (4:39.7) and the 3,200 meters (10:02.16); James Limon, 100 meters (11.33) and 200 meters, (22.50); Tyson Hobbs, triple jump (41-6); Beto Garcia, javelin (157-8); and Jeron Wisner, 800 meters (2:04.95).

The Organ Mountain boys also took first in the 1,600 relay (3:40.23), the 800 relay (1:32.26) and the 400 relay (43.86).

Other boy winners were: Daniel Hernandez, Centennial, long jump (20-8); Paul Whitelock, pole vault (12-0); and Tre Evans, Las Cruces High, shot put (46-6).

The Centennial boys also won the medley relay (3:44.69).

First-place girls for Organ Mountain were: Wren Hofacket, 3,200 meters (13:46.65); Joselyn Fierro, 300 hurdles (51.62); and Marissa Harrington, 100 meters (12.70).

Other first-place girls were: Aveolela Pili, Centennial, shot put (39-4); Agalelei Pili, discus (119-3); Lauren Ocampo, Centennial, javelin, (115-4); Jayln McDonald, Mayfield, pole vault (9-0); Kassile Davis, Las Cruces, high jump (5-0); and Lauren Crespin, Las Cruces, 800 meters (2:37.99).

Centennial girls won the medley relay (4:32.94).
