Register students for the COVID-19 vaccine
The vaccine is expected to be approved for students 5-11 in early November.
Pending approval of the COVID vaccine for children ages 5-11, families can now enroll their children for the vaccination through the New Mexico Department of Health. As soon as the vaccine is approved, families can make an appointment themselves via the online portal.
Pending approval of the vaccine for younger students, APS is hosting an event on November 6th:
Family Vaccination Clinic: Flu and COVID-19
- Saturday 6th November
- 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Dolores Gonzales Elementary School, 900 Atlantic Ave. SW (one minute walk from the zoo).
- No insurance or ID is required. Please wear clothing that allows access to your upper arm. Vaccine recipients receive:
- An arts and culture pass that gives you up to four entries to the ABQ BioPark Zoo, Aquarium and Botanical Gardens, Albuquerque Museum, and Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Museum
- Free meals
(Food and passes are available while supplies last. One art and culture pass per family or group of four.)

As a reminder, vaccinated students and staff do NOT need to be quarantined if they are in close contact with someone who has tested positive!
Booster shots at Berna Facio
Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson Booster Shots for those who are eligible is offered twice a week at the Berna Facio Professional Development Center, 3315 Louisiana NE:
- Tuesdays from 1:30 p.m.
- Fridays from 8.30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Make an appointment (choose Berna Facio as the location)
- Bring your COVID-19 vaccination card
Moderna boosters can be scheduled through the New Mexico Department of Health: Booster Appointments
