Renaissance ArtsFaire planned for first weekend in November

LAS CRUCES – The Doña Ana Arts Council announced the annual Renaissance ArtsFaire will be held Nov. 5 and 6 at Young Park.

The theme for the 51st annual faire is “Travelers in Time,” which the arts council said could mean the costumes people often wear to the event may span centuries.

“Of course, the Renaissance is still at the heart of the event, but that was verily a time of discovery, innovation and renewal. The Arts Council asserts the same is true of our own time,” stated a news release from the arts council.

And while the council didn’t go into specifics, the news release also stated new vendors, experiences and entertainment will be part of the event this year as well.

However, Magellan the Dragon will not be in the middle of Young Pond this year due to “inopportune conditions with the lake.” Boat rides will not be allowed.

More information about the Renaissance ArtsFaire will be available as the event gets closer.
