Roswell, Las Cruces, Clovis and Red River water tanks in the “Tank of the Year” competition

ROSWELL, NM (KRQE) – Four of New Mexico’s water tanks are featured in a competition that celebrates the artwork and coatings on the structures. The Tank of the Year competition highlights creative coatings on water tanks nationwide and also honors the Tank of the Year with a People’s Choice Award.

This year, tanks from Clovis, Roswell, Red River and Las Cruces are entering the competition, with voting now taking place online. According to the Tank of the Year website, once the voting is complete, the top tank during the voting process and 11 other tanks will be judged by a jury of water tank enthusiasts to determine a winner.

The deadline for voting is October 15 at 4 p.m. MST. The People’s Choice winner will be chosen on October 18th.

Tnemec, the supplier of industrial paints organizing the competition, will be named Tank of the Year on October 22nd. The winner and the eleven runners-up will then be added to the company’s annual calendar.

Starting Friday October 8th, the Las Cruces tank will be in the top 5. To view the full voting gallery, visit tankoftheyear.tnemec.com.
