Santa Fe hotel first to call for guests’ vaccine proof

SANTA FE, NM (AP) – A Santa Fe hotel will likely be the first of its kind in town and in New Mexico to require proof of vaccination for access.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports that Ten Thousand Waves guests who want to book a room, use the spa, or eat indoors will need to get vaccinated or submit a recent negative COVID-19 test. This new policy begins on Wednesday. In July, the hotel owners decided to vaccinate all 150 employees and contractors. They said the prevalence of the Delta variant helped them influence it.

More than 1 million people aged 18 and over in New Mexico have been fully vaccinated.
