Tenoroc shuts out Parrish for 5th win; Santa Fe, Victory win

LAKELAND – DJ Williams ran 43 yards for his eleventh touchdown of the season in the first quarter and Kenan Bell’s fourth quarter, four-yard score in the final third was enough to send Tenoroc to a 12-0 win over Parrish County.

The win was Tenorocs third in the last four and the Titans are now 5-4.

“We gutted this defensively,” said head coach Patrick Smith. “We’ve been down for the past few years and it’s good that we’re playing well now.”

Lakeland Christian 42, South Sumter 32

LAKEAND – Idris Williams scored three touchdowns when Lakeland Christian went undefeated 9-0. TC Bell scored a defensive touchdown when he returned a fumble after a score.

Santa Fe Catholic 13, Gainesville Oak Hall 7

GAINESVILLE – Quarterback Cam Sowder scored two touchdowns and the Hawks’ defense kept the Eagles to 100 yards.

Sowder finished a 60-yard drive with a 3-yard plung in the first quarter and John Herman’s extra point gave the Hawks an early 7-0 lead.

Oak Hall came back to level the game shortly after the middle of the first quarter.

In the third quarter, on the Hawks’ second drive, Sowder finished another 50-yard drive with a 4-yard run. The kick failed, but Santa Fe held out for his sixth win and fourth in the last five.

Sophomore running back Julian Franzano carried 14 times for 128 yards for Santa Fe.

Victory Christian 21, Jacksonville Zerepath 8

LAKELAND – It wasn’t long before the storm broke a three-game losing streak with a win on Victory Field at Southeastern University Stadium

On first possession, the Storm, battling a light rain, drove 72 yards, with Isaiah Reynolds carrying the last two for the first touchdown

By the end of the third quarter, Reynolds’ 2 yard throw to tight end Jashton Hunter finished the scoring.

Savion Frazier, Samuel Wilson, Ethan Fedkiw and Levi Biledeau were instrumental in the defense

Mulberry 14, Kissimmee Liberty 12

KISSIMMEE – Junior Deuntae Burgess scored both Panthers touchdowns and converted the all-important 2-point conversion when Mulberry won his fifth game of the year.

Burgess, who came into play with just two touchdowns, gave Mulberry 6-0 lead after a quarter and scored again from 5 yards just before half. Burgess’ 2 point Convesion run gave Mulberry a 14-6 lead.

After the Chargers scored a goal early in the second half, their 2-point conversion to a tie was halted.

Mulberry made some outstanding defensive games in the second half thanks to Ayden Johnson, Derick Cooper and Jason Bowman, twice inside the red zone.

Lakeside Christian 30, All Saints’ Day 18

CLEARWATER – The Lions jumped 24-0 ahead in the first half and were never threatened with defeating the Saints and knocking them out of the state’s eight-man playoffs.

“We made too many mistakes and received too many penalties,” said Saints head coach Stuart Weiss.

The Saints met shortly before the end of the first half in a 65-yard pass-run game from quarterback Brock Thielen to Scott Weltlin. The two later reunited, this time for 60 yards,

Thielen, a freshman who now has 15 touchdown passes, then ran 50 yards in the third third to end the Saints’ scoring.

Jacksonville Duval Charter 56, Oasis Christian 0

JACKSONVILLE – TheLions never started and ended their season with road damage.

The Lions came into play with five wins, which coach Chad Moore described as “a huge improvement on most teams in the past”.

The Panthers won their fourth home win and moved into the State 8-man playoffs

AUBURNDALE – The game between Jordan Christian and Crescent City was canceled on Friday after it was determined that numerous injuries from both teams would affect the game, according to Seahawks head coach Mario Bargaineer.

“We’re not going to make up for the game, but we’ll play Boca Raton Christian at home next Friday at 6pm,” he said.
