LAS CRUCES — The state of New Mexico on Monday announced its 2022 football schedule, the first under new head coach Jerry Kill.
NM State will play the team’s highest total of home games (six) since 2014, as well as away games with three power-five opponents.
The Aggies get a $1.4 million guarantee for a game in Wisconsin and $1.6 million from Missouri. The Aggies’ road game at Kill’s former Minnesota school is a return game from 2013 at Aggie Memorial Stadium.
“We need Aggie fans everywhere to come out and support our program this fall,” commented Kill. “Our team will have a hard hat and lunch bucket mentality every time we step onto the field.”
Aggie Memorial Stadium will serve as the site of Kill’s opening game as head of NM State when Nevada visits the Land of Enchantment on August 27 for a week-zero matchup.

NM State wraps up its regular season schedule with road dates in Missouri (Saturday, November 19) and in Liberty (Saturday, November 26).
“With the 2022 season being our last as an FBS Independent, our planning goals for future seasons will change,” Kill continued. “Our plan is to have just a single Power Five program, one FCS opponent and a group of five teams for our off-conference schedule. It’s also important for our program and our state to continue our rivalry game with New Mexico on an annual basis.”
Season tickets for the 2022 Aggies campaign are scheduled to go on sale on Tuesday 15th March 2022. Ticket prices and various packages will be announced at that time.
