Obituary for Timothy Edward Bagley
Timothy Edward Bagley
Timothy Edward Bagley (Bagman) made his final exit on November 22, 2021 in Farmington, New Mexico. He was born on June 25, 1962 in Anniston, Alabama, to Robert Lee Bagley and Barbara Faye Bagley. Tim has been active both on and behind the scenes in Farmington’s professional and community theater for more than two decades.
He was 16 when he made his first entry into high school. He later attended Cerritos College in California, where he held several prominent roles. He has been involved in several Southern California community theaters and productions, and has served on the Garden Grove Community Theater Board of Directors. Tim moved to Farmington in 1996 after meeting his wife, Cynthia, while they were both working on concessions in Grand Canyon National Park.
At San Juan College, he revived the Delta Psi Omega National Theater Honor Society and was instrumental in producing an annual A Christmas Carol in Two Tumultuous Acts for the benefit of PATH. He has appeared in the Traveling Troupe, which brought educational skits to multiple schools, and has appeared on stage in dozens of productions, including The Wizard of Oz, The Taming of the Shrew, the Fantasticks, and the Laramie Project. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Theater Directing from the University of the Southwest.
An integral part of the Farmington community’s theater scene, he has been involved in all aspects of production for Bottom of the Barrel Productions, Theater Ensemble Arts, and others. Notable productions have included Life with Father, Haunted, Act of the Imagination, On Golden Pond and most recently he played Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
His films include Killer Clowns from Outer Space, Smoke Signals and American Meth. He has also starred professionally in The Anasazi Pageant, Black River Traders and several Sandstone Productions such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and South Pacific.
Tim was a passionate and high-profile entertainer who put his heart and soul into every performance and made him a crowd-pleaser. On stage, he was able to unleash his superpowers of intelligence and wit and cast a spell over people by transforming their experience with his ability to deliver his magical elixir humor. If he couldn’t make your day with a little laugh, he felt that he had let you down and he was grieving over it. His greatest desire was to change the human experience by helping to overcome the pain of the present with laughter. The Bagman was a larger than life personality who made every role he played a memorable one. In heaven, Tim will be an extraordinary Elvis impersonator!
He was pre-deceased by his parents, sister Terri Marie Bagley, brother Anthony Joseph Bagley, and beloved wife, Cynthia Benally Bagley. He leaves behind his son Trevor Bagley Hopkins and his sister Robin Bagley Bottjen.
A memorial service is to take place at the beginning of next year.
