ALBUQUERQUE, NM (AP) – Two waiters at an Albuquerque restaurant had a big surprise recently when a group of business owners left a tip of $ 5,555.

It was the brainchild of Battle Tested Business, a local entrepreneur, business and management organization.

Founder Ramon Casaus told Albuquerque broadcaster KOB-TV that he and his colleagues are always looking for creative and meaningful ways to invest in businesses and the people who keep them running.

“We said, well, what if we all went to dinner and tipped $ 505 each?” Said Casaus.

They named it “The 505 Dinner” based on the Albuquerque area code.

Battle Tested Business said on its Facebook page that local restaurants and their employees were devastated during the pandemic and that the group believes in the mission to help out in their own backyard.
