City of Santa Fe seeking applicants to sit on Planning Commission

SANTA FE, NM (KRQE) – The city of Santa Fe has announced that it is now looking for residents for its planning committee. In a press release, the city announced that the Planning Commission is reviewing and approving proposals for new development projects in Santa Fe as it is reviewing affordable housing practices in the community.

In addition, the commission submits recommendations to the board of directors on applications for land use changes, appendices and additions to the city’s land development law. The commission consists of nine members qualified by training, experience and the ability to make sound and practical judgment in civil, social, economic and governmental matters.

It will consist of two members from each city council district and one general member. Service to the Commission is voluntary and the term of office is two years.

The meetings take place on the first Thursday of the month at 6 p.m., depending on the number of cases also on the third Thursday of the month. Applications can be submitted until January 19, 2022.
