Cynthia Gunnell Obituary (1958-2021) – Farmington, NM

Cynthia Louise Gunnell, 62, of Farmington, New Mexico, died on October 9, 2021.
Cynthia was born on December 8, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents George A and Myrna R. France.
Cindy graduated from Farmington High School in 1977, where she met Eric, the love of her life. They married in 1978 and raised two beautiful daughters. She volunteered at Swinburne Elementary and later moved to Pancake Alley, TJ’s Diner, Jeans Café and Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she made many beautiful and lasting friendships. She loved spending time with her family, enjoying all of her fur babies, including Ozzy and Chewy, and Hallmark movies. She would stagger to the music of George Strait or play it to Usher. She loved to feed and watch the hummingbirds with her husband every year. She loved driving to Durango and visiting Honeyville. She loved the Easter picnic with the whole family, watching the July 4th fireworks and blowing up trash cans, picking pumpkins for Halloween, signing the family tablecloth for Thanksgiving, hanging up lights and closing Christmas as early and as long as possible celebrate . She loved going to the Festival of Trees and the annual Christmas parade. She would have run all year round for Christmas if we had let her. Mom, you are the sun for our day and the stars for our night. Your infectious laughs and smiles will be missed so much. We know you are at peace and you are watching us from above. You really are our best friend.
We are very grateful and blessed for all of our family and friends, especially their special angels who have helped, reached out and loved them as we did.
A celebration of life is scheduled for a later date and we will announce the date and time when it is set.
We would like to thank San Juan Regional and San Juan Genesis for their care during our mother’s stay. A very special thank you goes to Carmen and the Farmington Funeral Home for their amazing, personal and warm help with our mother’s arrangements.
