ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Coin Club, a 180-member organization, is a member of the American Numismatic Association, which supports numismatic education, and sponsors two coin exhibitions per year. In addition, the club offers educational presentations at its monthly meetings and publishes a monthly newsletter about club activities.

Former ACC President Phil Vitale talks about the history of Half Dime and the shows to come. When the mint started making silver coins in 1794, the priority was to make a silver dollar coin. However, officials knew that one dollar was a lot of money in the 1790s, so the other silver coin produced was half a cent worth five cents.
