LAS CRUCES – Frozen Custard fans, rejoice! Caliche’s Frozen Custard’s fourth location officially opened on North Main Street Monday, in time for the local company’s 25th anniversary.
In February of this year, the company’s president, Javier Morales, told Sun News that plans to expand the business began as early as 2017. Construction began shortly after the announcement.
Morales also mentioned that the company plans to expand further into north and central New Mexico and west Texas.

Founded in October 1996 as Scoopy’s Frozen Custard, the company has grown to have multiple locations in Las Cruces and one in Alamogordo. Almost always there is a line of customers waiting to order a Big Hawaiian Caliche, Mango Dango sundae or to create their own dessert with a mixture of fruits, nuts, sweets or sauces.
Customers can also try the treat of October: the seasonal pumpkin pie sundae and caliche.
